YOUR ANTWERP - YPS SALE

I know, I know... I said that I wouldn't be posting anymore until my BIG VACATION REVIEW get's online...BUT... Yesterday I received the news that one of my favorite stores was having a special sale and this is what happened: 

Today I spent my whole afternoon at YOUR in Antwerp. I must say, there's something 'bout this store that makes me happy each time I go there. And it's NOT because of it's location, nor is it because of the amazing architectural environment. NO, it's because no matter when I go there, no matter what month it is... I always am amazed about the awesomeness of the brands they have in store!

But back to the YPS SALE now!!! After a afternoon shopping.. I'm glad to add these four items to my wardrobe:

1. FOLK "Cave" Jacket - a patchwork style jacket, that makes a true statement!

4. Milennium shirt - never wrong adding a striped shirt to your basics!

SUMMER ESSENTIAL - NEW ARRIVAL

There is one thing I like more than wristwatches and sunglasses: ESPADRILLES. I absolutely LOVE them!!! Why I like these funny looking things? They are just so effortless and comfortable. During summertime these easy 'shoes' are my favorite items to wear. Pair them with a nice jeans and a subtle t-shirt and you have a great look! 

Best of all, they come in loads of colors and you have them in every price range. Below you can see my new arrivals, I bought these for my vacation in Hungary next week. Mine are between €5 and €20.

SNIFF UP THE COMPETITION

Today I went to the Esprit store in Antwerp to sniff up the competition for next week. For those who can't follow, or those who need a reminder: 4 May 2013, I am entering the last stage of the the ESB (Esprit Style Battle). A competition for young lovers of fashion, in which they have to style Esprit customers with the latest collection. The winner recieves a €1000 voucher and a fashion spread in Glam It. So I wanted to have a look what I'm supposed to do next week. 

The assignment is as following: I need to style at least 5 customers (male or female) with the latest collection. Then they can take a picture with the look and afterwards I need to collect as much votes as I can get! Each week the contestant with the most likes, is the week winner. At the end of the Styling days, the 'Esprit Jury' will pick the final winner out of the week winners! 

CAN I WRITE ON IT?

Yesterday I sat together with Helena Smet, founder and designer at Modest Men - Menswear. She designs simple but elegant shirts with a twist. We met at Al Dente, Italian Restaurant at Vlaamse Kaai in Antwerp. I had a great time, she as an interesting take on fashion and the fashion industry. 

Today I'm not gonna showcase her latest collection, because I'm waiting until all the pieces in her collection are ready! What I am showcasing is her amazing handcrafted 'Look Book'. It is made of one of her shirts 'Cahier'. It looks like an ruled excercice book you write in at school!

BLACK EYED SHEEP

In need for an awesome sleeve for your iPad, MacBook, Tablet, ...??  Have a look at this link! 

I ordered a grey woolen sleeve from them about a week ago. So when I got back from work and I opened my letter box I saw this parcel and in it: my black eyed sheep sleeve! 

It is as soft as warm woolen mittens, it is easy to open (it has an elastic string attached) and it's all HAND CRAFTED!!!

&& They have a lot of colors and even do custom made sleeves!!

NEW GLASSES

Hi Guys!

Today I ordered some new glasses from a new Belgian brand, called LOUIS. They have nice looking frames in metal and acetate. I just love the fact that they are full of color!

My frame is called Greenling (all frames are named after types of Fish!)
& I've chosen this multicolored one:

Havana/White/ Aqua/Green 

As soon as I receive my glasses, I'll be posting some pictures! So stay tuned...

FASHION NIGHT REPORT - PART 2

NO! I did not forget ... here it is: part 2 of my Report. Within this report I'll be explaining some trend for the coming season that I've spotted on Fashion Night last week.

left: colors such as marine blue and kaki green are combined with soft, natural tones such as brown and beige

middle: soft orange and coral red are combined with soft green

right: brown, grey and dark blue are combined with lemon green

overall trend: soft fabrics are used for sweaters, shirts and scarfs (scarf, with bold prints are a hot item this summer)

left: long t-shirts are combined with skinny pants and short jackets are combined with tight dresses

middle (she): black and white, with a hint of yellow

middle (he): grey tones are combined with yellows

right: light jackets are combined with a pants in a soft fabric

overall trend: yellow hints of color brighten up softer tones and loads of prints make t-shirts stand out!
